The Canadian GIS and Geomatics website is a non-profit initiative created to help the geospatial community find Canadian geographic information resources, and was started back in 2005 when there were very few places on the web to find Canadian GIS resources.

Over time the web has expanded and one could argue that there are now too many places on the web providing Canadian geographic information resources, perhaps making it hard for people to find the information that they need.

Mind you our site has evolved during that time as well (with several categories added or dropped), however we still continue to concentrate on geographic resources and promoting the Canadian GIS industry.

Through CanadianGIS.com the geospatial community can locate the latest geographic information related to open data, Canadian companies that provide GIS services, maps, geomatics related conference and events, employment and education programs and much more.

Browse hundreds of free and open data sources from regions all across Canada on the Canadian GIS data page and the Canadian LiDAR data page
