McMaster University ESRI Development Centre

The School of Geography and Earth Sciences at McMaster has established a long history of teaching and research ESRI products. In 2008 McMaster became the first University in Canada that was designated an ESRI Development Centre(EDC).

The McMaster GIS program emphasizes the development of a strong working knowledge of current ESRI GIS software and builds real world expertise and skills using state of the art desktop GIS tools and analysis for a wide variety of multi disciplinary applications.

ESRI Technical Certification Program

ESRI launched its Technical Certification Program this month, to help certify expertise for those using ESRI software programs. The new ESRI certification program recognizes people skilled with ESRI desktop software, developer, and the enterprise programs. Earning an ESRI certification will allow GIS users to recognize attainment of a high level of expertise with a particular program.

The ESRI Technical Certification Program has been designed to complement the geographic information system professional (GISP) certification available in the United States through the GIS Certification Institute, and recognizes specific skills and expertise in using ESRI software.

Free Data Sets for the City of Edmonton & ESRI online mapping tools

The City of Edmonton has been providing an online Open Data service to help make municipal information more accessible since 2009. They feel that through collaboration and innovation that they have become a leader in Open Government by using the latest technology to increase access to their information.
