Be Spatial’13 – URISA Ontario

If you are in Ontario then you will want to make plans to attend one of the largest information packed geo-spatial events in Southern Ontario on May 6 and 7. The URISA Ontario chapter will be hosting their 2013 AGM & annual ‘Be Spatial’ event at the Grand Olympia, in Stoney Creek on May 7 with a preconference workshop on May 6.

CARTO 2013 – North by West ‘Preserving the Present as we Journey to the Future’

The Association of Canadian Map Libraries and Archives (ACMLA) and the Canadian Cartographic Association (CCA) have joined forces this year for a joint conference in Edmonton hosted by the University of Alberta from 11 to 14 June 2013. Past joint conferences held by the ACMLA &; CCA have been premier events that focused on cartographic and geospatial research and CARTO 2013 promises to uphold the same prestige as past conferences.

Planning for CARTO 2013 titled North by West ‘Preserving the Present as we Journey to the Future’ has begun and an official call for papers, presentations and workshops based on a wide range of cartographic topics was released last week.

GeoManitoba 2012

The Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) and the Manitoba Section of the CGS are planning their 65th Canadian Geotechnical Conference witch will take place September 30 to October 3, 2012 at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The theme of GeoManitoba 2012 will focus on building on the success of past conferences, reflecting the heritage of geotechnical engineering in Canada and how history will help Geomatics going forward into the future. They also plan to address the ever increasing need to restore and upgrade Canada’s aging infrastructure.
