Canadian Geomatics Conference and Events
The Canadian Geomatics Conference and Events section was designed to help provide people with a central place to obtain information about the various GIS & Geomatics related conferences, events, workshops, training and webinars that are held in Canada.
As you browse through the conference and events section you will find that are a wide array of geomatics related conferences, events, workshops, training and webinars available to Canadians. Many of these are conferences that we have attended regularly, events that we have attended before or events that we know about but have yet to attend.
However, often there are events that we are not always aware of yet, so we have added the ability for people to post info about any Canadian geomatics events that they are hosting or ones that they know of but that we missed.
All of our conference and event listing are also promoted through all our social network channels and social media sites like LinkedIn, FaceBook and Twitter, providing you more exposure to your event.

BCParks Online Mapping Application
BCParks has created a simple online mapping application with data from the DataBC program to help people in British Columbia find things see and do in British Columbia by identifying the various locations of the Province’s Parks, Protected Areas, Recreation Areas and Ecological Reserves.
The online interactive mapping tool based on the Google Maps platform offers various searching abilities and provides users with some control over the features and map layers that are displayed in the mapping window.
Points of interest in the map window feature places like Provincial Parks that are also interactive when clicked, providing basic information, photos and links to the respective web pages for that feature that can provide more adequate information.
Although this online map may be relatively pretty basic it still does a good job of providing people with the ability to interactive spatially, appreciate the vast geography of British Columbia and find information about things to see & do that they may have not discovered before.
