After 10 years of continuous research and development GTA Geoinformatik GmbH of Germany has established themselves as world leaders in generation & refinement of georeferenced virtual 3D city models. Their highly sophisticated Tridicon software suite has enabled them to produce accurate detailed georeferenced virtual 3D city models.
Last month GTA released a new update of thier 3D LOD 2 level city models for various parts of North America & Europe. The models provide the spatial community with 3D coverage of over 200 cities consisting of more then 5 million 3D buildings that can be used with a variety of GIS software packages.
Canadian cities available in thier data sets include: Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto, & Vancouver.
The event brought together the geospatial community from industry, non-profit groups, associations, academia and all levels of government. It showcased the latest information on the technologies and their applications in 3D Mapping and included presentations, discussions, demos, and poster displays promoting technologies, related to the latest collection, analysis, and visualization software / hardware, from GIS to Virtual and Augmented Reality.
The Geomatics Association of Nova Scotia (GANS) and the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG) Nova Scotia Chapter would like to invite you to a workshop on 3D Data mapping that will be of interest to industry, non-profit groups, associations, academia and all levels of government.
It will take place at Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) in Lawrencetown. COGS is Canada’s largest geomatics-focused learning environment offering high-quality geographic information programs in the fields of GIS, surveying, remote sensing, mapping and land-use planning.
