ISPRS Workshop – Laser Scanning 2011

The Laser Scanning 2011 event will be the seventh of a series of ISPRS workshops about laser scanning that began back in 1999. It is aimed to bring together scientists, system developers and practitioners from different disciplines who are focused on the modelling and application of point cloud data acquired from laser scanners and other active imaging systems such as range cameras.

32nd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing

The Canadian Remote Sensing Society’s (CRSS)32nd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing will be held From June 13th to 16th in Sherbrooke at Bishop’s University campus. It will be a co-hosted event with the Congress of L’Association québécoise de télédétection. The Conference provides an opportunity to present scientific and technological advances or to see first-hand the latest advances in remote sensing.

CIG (Montreal) – Geomatics Symposium 2011

The Montreal branch of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG) will be celebrating its 30th Geomatics symposium “Geomatics 2011, a conference for managers and technical staff alike from the public or private sectors. Participants will have the chance to listen to experienced speakers present their latest accomplishments, new products and services and their vision of what’s to come.

Canadian Open Data and Free Geospatial Data

Over the past few years CanadianGIS.com has been highlighting and promoting various cities and provinces in Canada that have done a great job providing data and applications to the public.

We created this page a few years ago to collaborate links of all the open geospatial data info (sites that offer data downloads at no cost and without restrictions), fee based geospatial data, online web mapping applications and other great sources of geospatial information (including National, Provincial and Regional levels).

This comprehensive list of open geospatial data, fee based geospatial data, web mapping applications and cartographic products is a valuable asset to many people (… we get hundreds of emails and requests regarding “Where can I find data for …?”) so we continue to update it with new information and sources of Canadian data sets.

Selkirk College GIS programs

Selkirk College is a Regional Community College located in the Kootenay region of southern British Columbia. The Selkirk vision is to help inspire students and enables them to become valuable contributors to society and their associated industry. There are two Geographic Information Systems programs offered at Selkirk College, the Advanced Diploma in GIS and the Bachelor Degree in in GIS.
