3D Workshop & COGS Industry Expo Date: January 31 – February 1

Location: Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia

Registration:  see the registration page

The Geomatics Association of Nova Scotia (GANS) and the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG) Nova Scotia Chapter would like to invite you to a workshop on 3D Data mapping that will be of interest to industry, non-profit groups, associations, academia and all levels of government.

This two day workshop is intended to present the latest information on the technologies and their applications in 3D Mapping and will include presentations, discussions, and poster displays promoting technologies, with several opportunities for networking. It will also help engage the geospatial community in Atlantic Canada, increasing awareness of the benefits of using geospatial data and tools for effective decision making.

It will take place at Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) in Lawrencetown. COGS is Canada’s largest geomatics-focused learning environment offering high-quality geographic information programs in the fields of GIS, surveying, remote sensing, mapping and land-use planning.

All refreshment breaks, lunches and dinner included with registration and open to all, including GANS members, CIG members and anyone else interested in technologies suitable for mapping in the coastal zone.

More details about the event will be added as it becomes available or you can get more information and registration information from the conference  website (https://geomatics.one/).

The final day will include the Annual COGS Industry Expo 2018

Centre of Geographic Sciences

The goals of this event is for industry and geospatial partners to come together to showcase their organizations’ work, and to provide various potential career information and opportunities to COGS students.

Industry can provide valuable insight to students about the “world of work” in a variety of fields. Professional associations are invited to demonstrate to students the benefits of associations and professional designations available in their industry.

If you are unable to attend in person, it’s possible to join us virtually, and we will assist you in making this happen! Companies that register will be added to the COGS Visits map for 2017-18. Registration is free for our industry partners.
