to Rethink Plastics
As a Fellow of the RCGS, we want to share something with you, and to ask for your help.
As you may know, this year, the RCGS, in partnership with the Recycling Council of Ontario, received funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada, to create and deliver a national engagement program on plastics.
Their program, 10,000 Changes: Canada’s Commitment to Rethink Plastics, will be launching on the morning of June 27th, with a call to action for all Canadians to visit our site at www.10000changes.ca, make a commitment to reducing their plastic consumption, and challenge their family, friends and social media followers to do the same. I believe that through this program, we will be able to make a huge and quantifiable difference in our communities, and throughout Canada. To get there, we need your help.
For a movement to be successful, it needs momentum right from the start. That’s where we are hoping you can help us get 10,000 Changes off the ground.
On June 27th, please visit the site www.10000changes.ca, and click the “Make a Change” button, and make a commitment to changing the way you live with plastics. It could be any of the changes suggested on the site, or a custom one of your choosing. Choose several if you’d like, but please choose at least one.
Once you have made your commitment, please use your social media platforms to tell others that you have joined the movement, and that you are challenging them to do the same, while using the hashtag #10000changes.
There is no “one solution” that will get us to zero plastic waste. It will take ten thousand changes, small and large, to help us get on this path. Please help us champion this change, and encourage others to do the same.
