Geomatics is a professional discipline that uses a systematic approach to simplify everyday problems by integrating various means to incorporate and manage data with spatial information. Geographic Information Systems (more commonly referred to as GIS) is an integral component of Geomatics that has been highly active in Canada over the past few decades and continues to flourish as the technology further develops and becomes more affordable.

I am a Certified Geomatics Specialist and have designed this web site to provide an online GIS resource to help promote Canadian Geomatics and to share the knowledge of this great industry with others. If you have any GIS related info that you would like to contribute to my site, or you would like to add a Canadian GIS Company or a GIS education program then feel free to contact me. So check out the waekth of GIS information that CanadianGIS.com has to offer such as the growing number of tools and resources, search through the GIS Library, and join the Canadian GIS group to help discuss, learn and share some of that valuable knowledge about our GIS industry.

Attending an event or conference is a great way to keep update about what is currently happening in Geomatics and also is an opportunity to network with other GIS professionals. CanadianGIS.com provides free information about Geomatics conferences and events for organizations all across Canada.

The Internet has changed the way that many of us get spatial information, so CanadianGIS.com helps by providing you with the places on the web to find maps, vector data sets and satellite images for areas all across Canada. This section continues to evolve as more towns and cities get involved.

Often the hardest job you will ever do during your career will be to find a great Canadian Geomatics job, especially in a niche industry like Geomatics. However the increased use and exposure of the Internet has led to an abundance of employment resources. CanadianGIS.com helps promote and share the best GIS job resources based on years of Geomatics Employment Experience.
